Frequently Asked Questions

Communication and clarity are key to achieving the right result for your print project. Here are a few regularly asked questions to give you a helping hand.

What is the best printing process for my job?

Quantities will often be the deciding factor to whether the job will be printed litho or digital. Our estimating team will work with you to determine the best option for your budget.

What about paper stock?

You might know what you want already, but if you give us an idea of the finish you are looking for, we are able to advise on stocks, how ink handles on them, the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly options.

What are your artwork supply requirements?

Hi res PDF is our preferred format. Make sure nothing is set to overprint, unless it is supposed to. We prefer fonts to be outlined. If you are unable to supply PDF, we can accept Indesign files, but this must be accompanied by linked fonts and images.

What are bleed and creep?

If you're producing a booklet or brochure, we recommend that you allow creep. Bleed is essential on any job. 3mm bleed is standard.

What is the proofing procedure?

We will always produce a ripped PDF proof for the client’s approval. If there are issues with fonts or overprint settings, a ripped PDF proof will highlight them. If a particular job is colour critical or printed on high quality material, we may invite the client for a press-pass.

What are the turnaround times?

Our typical turnaround time for litho print is four days and two days for digital print. We can offer same day and next day services upon request. An extra day may need to be added for overnight UK deliveries.
